# Afterglow

> Run original After Dark screen saver modules on modern macOS.

Afterglow brings classic After Dark screen savers to modern macOS through a dedicated emulator. It runs the original 68k module code rather than recreating the animations, and does not require an Apple ROM or a classic Mac OS installation. Modules are imported separately by dropping files, disk images, or archives into the app.

An included macOS screen saver module lets imported animations run when the computer is idle. Users can adjust module controls, use full-screen playback, randomize selections, and explore options such as a CRT shader and resource inspector. Afterglow is a non-commercial software preservation project; the original After Dark modules are not bundled with the download.
