# Bookshelf for NotebookLM

> Organize NotebookLM notebooks into local folders and collapsible bookshelves.

Bookshelf for NotebookLM is a free Chrome extension that adds a folder-style sidebar to Google NotebookLM. Users create bookshelves for topics such as work, study, or personal projects, then drag notebooks into the appropriate collection. Bookshelves can be reordered, and the sidebar can be collapsed when a less crowded workspace is preferable.

The extension detects new notebooks and places them in an uncategorized list until they are organized. Folder settings are stored locally in Chrome, keeping the organizational layer within the browser. It is an independent extension intended for people whose growing notebook collections are becoming difficult to navigate through the standard interface.
