# BUI

> Use Blender’s widgets in standalone desktop apps

BUI is an open-source library that brings Blender’s interface controls into standalone desktop applications. A developer building a tool for artists can use collapsible panels, color pickers, and numeric fields that let users drag a value or type an expression. The library handles layout, input, and drawing through a shared C runtime.

Python developers can use tkinter syntax to build a window, while Rust and React developers can use their own bindings to reach the same controls. BUI supports both CPU and GPU rendering. Its Python package, blenderui, is publicly available in alpha.
