# Burner Note

> Share browser-encrypted notes that expire after being read

Burner Note is a web tool for sharing temporary, encrypted messages through a link. Users write a note in the browser, optionally protect it with a password, and choose an expiration period before generating the link. By default, a note is destroyed after it is read, reducing the amount of information left available afterward.

The service describes its encryption as occurring in the browser and publishes its source code. A Pro option adds adjustable view limits, read receipts, and encrypted file attachments. Burner Note is useful when someone needs to pass along a short piece of sensitive information without keeping it in a permanent shared document.
