# CHAI

> Discover AI characters and build interactive stories

CHAI is a mobile platform for conversations with AI characters. Browse characters or create one of your own, then develop a story through text exchanges. The character generates replies to the setting and direction you give it, with the conversation built around social and entertainment uses. The released apps are available for iOS and Android. CHAI develops and serves language models for the platform, so responses come from those models rather than another person. A fictional role or scenario can provide the starting point, with the user's messages continuing the exchange and shaping what happens next.
