# Double Tap

> Trigger Mac keyboard shortcuts by double-tapping a modifier key.

Double Tap is a Mac utility that maps keyboard shortcuts to quick double-taps of modifier keys. Users can assign a frequently used command to a simpler gesture, then give the mapping a description so it is easy to remember. The app lives in the menu bar, where mappings remain accessible for review or adjustment.

This is useful for commands that normally require an awkward combination of several keys, particularly when working one-handed or moving repeatedly between the same actions. Multiple mappings can be configured to suit a person's workflow without changing the underlying shortcuts used by their applications.
