# Focus

> Block distracting sites and apps during Mac work sessions

Focus blocks selected websites and applications during a work session on your Mac. Choose the distractions to restrict, or use an allowlist so only the websites needed for the task remain accessible. A session can begin immediately or follow a recurring daily or weekly schedule.

Timers support timed work and planned breaks, including a Pomodoro routine. Locked sessions and password controls restrict stopping a block early, while profiles keep different rules ready for different projects. Time tracking shows previous sessions, and scripts can coordinate other Mac applications with the session. You can prepare a writing routine and a separate research routine around the resources each requires.
