# Jarq

> Translate, rewrite, and dictate text where your cursor is

Jarq is a Mac utility for translating, correcting, shortening, and rewriting text inside the application you are already using. Select a passage and use its floating control to apply a transformation, with the result returned to the original field. Custom instructions let you create actions for recurring writing tasks, such as adjusting an email's tone.

Dictation works through a keyboard shortcut and inserts punctuated text at the cursor. On-device recognition keeps that voice processing on the Mac, while cloud features send the selected text or recording for processing. Local history stays on disk. The app runs on Apple silicon Macs and includes a free tier.
