# Latch

> Block distracting apps and make unlocking require a physical action

Latch blocks selected apps and websites until the user performs a deliberate action to regain access. A key can be an NFC sticker or printed QR code placed away from the phone, encouraging a pause before reopening a distracting app. Another option requires completing a chosen number of walking steps.

Users create profiles for situations such as work or bedtime, then apply schedules or location-based rules. The app also provides activity recaps, shared keys, and shortcuts for starting a session. Available for iPhone, iPad, and Android, Latch is intended for people who want more friction between an impulse and another screen session.
