Metabase gives people tools to ask questions of databases and turn the answers into reports. A visual query builder supports exploration without SQL, while the SQL editor handles custom queries. Dashboards combine charts with filters and drill-through views, and subscriptions or alerts distribute recurring updates.

Data Studio lets a data team prepare reusable metrics and curated datasets. Metabot answers questions in plain language, with its underlying query available to inspect. The software can run on your own infrastructure or through Metabase Cloud. Embedding tools also put dashboards and data exploration inside another application for its users.
