# Mispher

> Dictate, translate, rewrite, and use an assistant with local models on Mac.

Mispher brings voice typing and a local AI assistant to Apple silicon Macs. Users hold a shortcut, choose a mode, and speak to transcribe text, translate it, rewrite a selection, or ask a question. Speech recognition and language processing run through models downloaded to the device, with cleanup for punctuation, numbers, capitalization, and filler words.

The assistant can plan tasks and use approved tools, including Apple Notes and connected MCP servers. Users choose which tools are available and how their actions are approved. Different recording overlays and configurable shortcuts adapt the interface to the workflow. The core application is free, open source, and works without an account.
