# OpenFlowKit

> Draw architecture diagrams by hand, write them as code, or edit them with an AI agent.

OpenFlowKit is an open-source diagramming workspace for architecture and technical explanations. Users can draw shapes and connections, add freehand notes, or start with Mermaid, D2, and Structurizr code. The canvas combines structured diagrams with images, charts, and automatically matched technology icons.

An MCP connection lets coding agents edit the diagram currently open in the app, with changes available to undo. Repository mapping can turn a public GitHub project into connected components with links back to source lines; private repositories use a local command-line workflow. Export options include animated SVG and video, helping users carry an architecture explanation into documentation or a presentation.
