# perma.sh

> Keep encrypted, write-once files with prepaid upload capacity

perma.sh is a storage service for encrypted personal files and business archives. Files are encrypted in the browser before upload, and users retain the private key needed to open them. The service stores write-once copies that cannot be rewritten, making it suited to records and finished work that should remain unchanged.

Users buy upload capacity in advance rather than paying a recurring fee for that capacity. Each upload consumes part of the allowance, and deleting a file does not restore it. Private sharing depends on intentionally providing access to the key. The service distinguishes an immutable stored copy from a guarantee that its hosting will remain available indefinitely.
