> Brain-surface interfaces for restoring digital control and communication

Precision Neuroscience is developing a brain-computer interface to help people with paralysis operate digital devices through intended movements and communication. Its Layer 7 cortical interface uses a thin, flexible film containing 1,024 electrodes that conform to the surface of the brain without penetrating brain tissue. Neural recordings feed decoding software designed to translate intended actions into computer commands, typing, or speech.

The company works with hospitals and research teams to study neural recording, stimulation, and device control. Layer 7 has FDA clearance for temporary cortical recording, monitoring, and stimulation, including clinical applications such as brain mapping. That clearance applies to the electrode array: the complete brain-computer interface remains investigational and is not available for sale in the United States. The broader system is being developed for a wireless connection and an implant designed for removal and replacement.
