# REA

> Inspect how software works with your coding agent

REA, short for Reverse Engineer Anything, connects AI coding agents to tools for understanding existing software. Developers can give it an application, executable, or webpage and ask how a particular feature works. Through a local Model Context Protocol (MCP) server or command-line interface, it returns code, references, call relationships, and runtime observations that an agent can use to explain behavior or build and test an implementation.

The project supports workflows for native binaries, JavaScript and Electron applications, .NET assemblies, Android APKs, and websites. Deep native analysis relies on a configured engine such as Hopper, Ghidra, or IDA; requirements vary with the target and host platform. REA runs analysis locally, while results passed to a coding agent remain subject to that agent provider’s data policies.
