# RetroMac

> Give macOS retro desktop themes and live display effects

RetroMac transforms the appearance of a Mac with classic desktop themes and live display effects. Users can apply CRT, VHS, or LCD shaders to the whole screen or a single window, replace the Dock with a retro alternative, and combine wallpapers, title bars, boot screens, and screensavers into a themed workspace.

The components can also be used individually, including a small television-style player for web videos and streams. Themes can be limited to selected Spaces, and a recovery shortcut restores the normal desktop and brings windows back into view. The core app is free and open source, while webcam effects, live wallpaper, and custom shaders are available through a separate one-time purchase.
