sideOS is a Mac assistant that uses voice or text to work with the apps on your screen. Hold a keyboard shortcut to give a request, and it can read interface elements, open apps, click controls, and type. A separate dictation mode inserts speech at the cursor using on-device recognition. The workspace also includes background research tasks, meeting transcription, reminders, document attachments, and optional searchable activity history. Users can connect services through MCP, choose a cloud model with their own API key, or run a supported local model. Controls in the notch provide access to conversations, permissions, and ongoing work.
