# ThinkRail

> An AI coding IDE with isolated Git workspaces and living specs

ThinkRail is an open-source IDE for working with the pi coding agent. Open a local Git repository, create an isolated worktree, and give the agent a task while you inspect its edits in Monaco editor tabs, terminals, and live diffs. Each workspace keeps its own branch, files, and conversations, so several tasks can progress in parallel. You can choose a model for each session, steer ongoing work, and review changes before merging them.

Project knowledge lives in connected Markdown specifications stored alongside the code. The agent can search and maintain this specification graph, helping requirements and design decisions carry across sessions. ThinkRail is available as a desktop app for macOS, Windows, and Linux, or as a locally hosted browser interface. It uses your configured model provider and is distributed under the Apache 2.0 license.
