Your information on BetaNeon.

Last updated November 5, 2026

This notice describes the information used by BetaNeon to provide product discovery, member accounts, and moderation. BetaNeon is operated by BetaNeon.com.

Information you provide

We store your account name and email, a password hash if you use a password, and the account identifiers needed for connected Google, GitHub, or X sign-in. When you enable two-factor authentication, we store the information needed to verify your authenticator and recovery codes.

We also store product submissions, uploaded images, upvotes, saved products, comments, ownership claims, reports, and messages sent through the contact form.

We record the IP address used when you register, request product ownership, and submit or resubmit a product. These records help us investigate abuse and protect accounts and listings. IP addresses are not public.

For editorial listings, we also record publicly listed business contact emails and their official sources so administrators can contact product teams about their listing. Ownership requests record the verified account email and website domain used for the decision.

What other people can see

Your display name, avatar, public profile, published products, and visible comments are public. Product screenshots and logos become public when their listing is published. Email addresses, saved-product lists, draft submissions, review notes, and account security details are not public.

How we use information

We use this information to operate accounts and product listings, process reviews, prevent abuse, respond to requests, and send essential emails such as verification links, password resets, and submission review decisions. Contact messages are also delivered to our support inbox. We do not offer a newsletter.

We record product view and outbound visit totals to help makers understand activity. Operational systems may record request details for security and troubleshooting. These are distinct from community upvotes.

Cookies and service providers

Essential cookies maintain sign-in and authentication challenges. Your light or dark theme preference is saved in browser storage. BetaNeon does not currently include advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts.

Amazon Web Services hosts the application and PostgreSQL database, and Amazon SES delivers transactional email. Cloudflare provides image storage and delivery through R2, DNS services, and Turnstile verification on the contact form. These providers process the information needed to run those functions, including technical connection information for security checks. If you choose Google, GitHub, or X sign-in, that provider also processes the sign-in under its own terms and privacy notice.

Retention and account choices

You can change your display name, manage sessions, update your password, and request account deletion in Settings. Account deletion removes the account and active sessions; some published contributions may remain without a linked account. Moderation records may be retained to protect the community and handle disputes. Encrypted daily database backups are retained for 30 days before automatic removal.

To request access, correction, or removal of information, or to ask about retention and service providers, use the contact form. Include enough information to identify the account or content; we may need to verify your request.

Changes to this notice

This page will be updated when the service’s handling of information changes. The date above identifies the current version.
