Clipto MCP connects a local media library to compatible AI assistants. After the Clipto desktop app indexes approved folders, users can ask connected tools to find footage, interview quotes, screenshots, or other relevant moments. Results include timestamps and links back to the source media for review.
The connection supports workflows such as matching B-roll to a script, preparing a footage log, researching recorded conversations, and planning a highlight reel. Clipto supplies searchable context; the user or a separate editing tool decides what becomes the final cut. Folder permissions and connected clients can be managed within Clipto, keeping searches limited to the media the user selects.
