Meet CommuteBar

CommuteBar displays estimated travel times in the Mac menu bar. Users save destinations such as home, work, school, or the gym, then choose driving, cycling, or walking routes. The app shows traffic delays and alternative routes, with driving options for avoiding tolls or highways.

Weekly commute windows specify when the user needs to arrive. Notifications can indicate when to leave, when conditions change, or when a faster route becomes available, helping people check a familiar trip without repeatedly opening a mapping app. Travel estimates use Apple Maps on the Mac and can change with conditions. CommuteBar requires macOS 14 or later and is available through a direct license or the Mac App Store.
