Meet DeskArcade

DeskArcade is a collection of short games that run in a transparent overlay on a Mac. A keyboard shortcut brings the arcade into view and hides it again, so players can take a brief break without rearranging their open applications. Scores appear in the menu bar.

Its eleven games include billiards, basketball, racing, chess, a Rubik's cube, and an invader game that uses application icons as characters. The overlay draws its own graphics without reading the contents of other windows or requiring screen-recording permission. DeskArcade is a free download for Apple silicon and Intel Macs running macOS Ventura or later, with rounds designed for short sessions.
