FotoPass helps users prepare photographs for passports, identity documents, and other applications. Select the document and country, then take a picture or upload an existing portrait. The service checks the image against its document template and adjusts the framing, dimensions, and background to create a prepared result.

The website includes guidance on camera distance, lighting, and posture to help users start with a suitable source photo. Results can be downloaded as a digital file or arranged on a print sheet. FotoPass is intended to make the preparation process easier from home, while the receiving authority remains responsible for deciding whether a submitted photograph is acceptable.
