Meet GitGuessr

GitGuessr is a coding game that tests how well someone can read and understand an unfamiliar codebase. Each challenge places the player inside a real GitHub repository with selected lines hidden. The player examines the surrounding code and works out what belongs in the gaps.

Games are organized by language and difficulty, with options including Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, and Java. Easier challenges focus on short expressions with immediate context, while harder ones require exploring more of the surrounding implementation. GitGuessr offers a practical way to practice code comprehension, recognize programming patterns, and get comfortable navigating code written by other people or generated by an assistant.
