Meet Google App for Desktop

The Google App for Desktop brings a search box to Windows through the Alt+Space shortcut. Users can search the web, find applications and files on their computer or Google Drive, and ask questions without first opening a browser tab. AI Mode supports follow-up questions and links for exploring a topic further.

Google Lens and screen sharing add visual context, allowing a question to refer to a selected window or part of the screen. This makes the app useful when researching information inside another application or looking up something visible on the desktop. Availability of AI features depends on the account, country, and language.
