Meet iTerm2

iTerm2 is a terminal emulator for macOS that helps organize several command-line sessions. Divide a tab into horizontal or vertical panes, save settings in tagged profiles, and bring a dedicated terminal forward with a hotkey. Search can look through the current session or across open tabs.

Shell integration tracks prompts, commands, hosts, and directories so earlier work is easier to revisit. Paste history and Instant Replay recover text, while regular-expression triggers can highlight output or issue a notification. You can leave a long command running in one pane and keep its output available beside the other sessions you are working in.
