Kitchen Stories combines cooking recipes, instructional media, and personal digital cookbooks. Home cooks can explore dishes, follow the ingredients and preparation steps, and save recipes into collections for later use. Recipe content includes photographs and videos alongside the written instructions.

The app also supports sharing a user's own recipe with step descriptions and media. Its recipe importer brings supported website or social recipes into a cookbook, organizing detected ingredients, quantities, and steps. A cook can collect an idea while browsing, return to the saved recipe in the kitchen, and keep it beside other dishes selected for a particular meal or theme.
