Meet LightBuddy
LightBuddy is a Mac menu bar app that turns the edges of a display into a configurable ring light. Users can switch it on before a video call and adjust the color temperature or choose a custom color to suit the room. It works independently of the camera application, so the same lighting setup can be used across different meeting tools.
The app supports individual or multiple connected displays, including compatible third-party monitors. On HDR-capable screens, it can increase the ring’s brightness beyond the surrounding desktop. LightBuddy is useful for improving front lighting at a desk without adding a separate physical lamp.
