Meet Megaphone

Megaphone is a Mac dictation app that uses Apple's on-device speech and language models. It transcribes speech while the user talks, cleans up filler words, and inserts the result into the current application. A personal dictionary preserves names and technical terms, while local memory remembers recurring corrections and preferences.

Users can begin an instruction with “Hey Megaphone” to rewrite text or request an answer at the cursor. Optional screen awareness reads the active application and window title locally to adapt wording to the context. Dictionary import and export help carry settings between Macs. The open-source app requires Apple silicon and macOS 26.
