Meet Memrise

Memrise uses short videos of native speakers to teach words and phrases in everyday language. Learners first hear an expression, practice remembering its meaning, and then repeat it with attention to pronunciation, rhythm, and stress. Different speakers expose learners to the voices and accents they may hear outside a lesson. Courses and wordlists can be chosen for interests or goals such as travel, work, or exams. The app combines listening, recall, and speaking practice, giving someone a way to move beyond recognizing written vocabulary and rehearse the phrases as they are spoken.
