Meet Mutter

Mutter turns spoken thoughts into text in the Mac application currently in use. Holding a shortcut starts dictation, and releasing it inserts the result where the cursor is positioned. The app removes verbal clutter and can turn a rough instruction into an email, message, list, or other finished passage.

Users can customize writing styles and dictionary terms, then recover previous text from a searchable history. Private mode transcribes on the Mac and works offline, while cloud options provide broader language coverage and additional rewriting features. Intent Mode can also translate a drafted passage. A limited free allowance lets users try the workflow before choosing a paid plan.
