Meet nao

nao is an open-source toolkit for building analytics agents that answer questions about an organization's data. Teams organize the agent's context as files containing schemas, business definitions, example queries, rules, and documentation. Synchronization tools can pull relevant context from databases, repositories, and other connected sources.

Developers can test question-to-SQL behavior and measure how changes to that context affect reliability. A chat interface lets colleagues ask questions and receive analysis or charts, while MCP makes the agent available through other tools. nao supports self-hosting and personal model API keys, giving data teams control over the infrastructure and information behind their analytics assistant.
