Navigate Windows applications with speech, braille and keyboard commands
An open-source screen reader for Windows

NVDA is a free, open-source screen reader for Windows. It provides speech and braille output for navigating the operating system and supported applications, including browsers, email, and office software. Controls, text, and available formatting information are announced through the accessibility information the application exposes.
Users can choose speech voices and compatible refreshable braille displays. A portable copy runs from removable media, and built-in OCR reads otherwise inaccessible PDFs or graphics. The add-on store extends functionality for particular tools and workflows. The experience depends on the application as well as NVDA, so supported content and controls determine what the reader can present.
