Meet Persona

Persona is an open-source JavaScript library for adding an AI chat interface to a website or application. It works with different agent backends and supports floating widgets, docked panels, and full-screen conversations. Developers can connect streaming responses through server-sent events and adapt the interface to their existing application rather than adopting a separate frontend framework.

The library provides theming, configurable messages, and interaction controls, with Shadow DOM isolation to reduce conflicts with surrounding styles. Backend adapters connect the interface to different services, while WebMCP integrations can expose approved page actions to an agent. Users retain approval over relevant actions. Persona is distributed under the MIT license and can serve as a starting point for embedded agent experiences.
