Meet Qalculate!

Qalculate! handles everyday arithmetic and more involved mathematical expressions in a desktop calculator. Enter units, percentages, currencies, or scientific constants alongside numbers, then combine conversions with the rest of the calculation. Custom variables and functions make recurring expressions available for later work.

Symbolic operations include equations and integrals, while plotting gives a visual way to explore a function. Arbitrary precision, uncertainty propagation, and interval arithmetic control how results are represented. Graphical interfaces and a command-line client provide different ways to use the same tools. The open-source software can therefore serve a quick unit conversion or a longer expression that needs symbolic and numeric steps together.
