Meet slash-editor

slash-editor is an open-source block-editor toolkit for application developers. Its headless Tiptap and ProseMirror core provides editing behavior, while React bindings and a shadcn registry supply interface components as source files the developer owns. The interaction model includes slash insertion, drag handles, nesting, comments and a range of block types. Optional collaboration uses Yjs and Hocuspocus, and AI actions connect through an adapter written for the chosen model. Developers can install the full kit or select individual pieces, then style the markup with their existing design tokens rather than treating the editor as a fixed hosted component.
