Meet Taste Lab
Taste Lab provides an open-source skill for analyzing a website's design and turning it into reusable context for an AI agent. The process measures visual properties, detects recurring patterns, and develops an interpretation of the decisions and trade-offs behind them. Its output combines concrete design tokens with written principles supported by page evidence.
Each analysis produces Markdown and JSON files containing colors, typography, spacing, shapes, and other design information. Tool-specific outputs can place the guidance where coding assistants or design builders read project instructions. The workflow uses Playwright to inspect a reference page and includes validation of the generated files. The resulting reasoning is an interpretation of the design, alongside measured values.
