Meet Turnitin

Turnitin helps educators review student writing, provide feedback, and support academic integrity. Its Similarity Report compares submissions with web pages, publications, and previously submitted work, highlighting matching passages and their sources so instructors can review citations and originality. A similarity score supports that review rather than determining whether plagiarism has occurred.

Through Feedback Studio, teachers can annotate assignments, reuse comments, apply grading rubrics, and guide students through revisions. Institutions can connect Turnitin to supported learning management systems so submissions and feedback fit existing coursework. Optional capabilities include indicators of likely AI-generated writing and tools that make the writing process more visible. Available features depend on the institution’s license and enabled add-ons, with educators responsible for interpreting the results in context.
