A small Mac companion with local memory and optional local AI

Meet Twin

Twin is a desktop companion for Mac that brings personal context into a small assistant you can summon with a shortcut. It keeps its memory in a local database and can use that information to help with everyday questions, briefings, and reminders. Voice, digests, and nudges are handled on the Mac.

Choose Ollama during setup to run chat locally without an API key; Twin can help select and download a model suited to the machine.

Optional cloud providers and live information lookups are available, with different data flows from the fully local chat mode. The project is free and open source, allowing users to inspect how the companion works.
