Venmo is a payments app for people in the United States to send money, request payments, and share everyday expenses. Friends can split a restaurant bill, settle household costs, or create a group to track spending on a trip. Payments can include notes, emojis, or GIFs, with privacy settings that control who can see each transaction. Scheduled and recurring payments help with regular expenses.

Beyond paying friends, users can choose Venmo at participating online checkouts or pay businesses through their Venmo profiles. Eligible users can also apply for a Venmo Debit Card to spend from their balance. The app brings personal payments, group expenses, and shopping together, while payment methods, transfers, and additional services have their own eligibility requirements and fees.
