An open-source Mac coding agent with parallel conversations

Wavefunction is a desktop coding agent for Mac that keeps a conversation at the center of development work. You can give it several tasks, continue discussing changes while they run, and let subagents work on separate branches or worktrees before bringing their results together. Conversations can be forked or rewound, and the app tracks token usage and provider-reported costs.
The app works with a ChatGPT sign-in, supported providers’ API keys, or local models through compatible servers. It reads project instructions and skills and connects to tools through MCP. When a task needs computer use, it can operate a separate desktop in a local Docker container. Wavefunction is free and open source under the MIT license.
