Insomnia
An open-source workspace for designing and testing APIs
Send API requests from a local desktop workspace and share collections through Git.

Yaak is a desktop API client that stores requests locally and can manage them through Git. It supports HTTP, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSocket, and server-sent events, with tools for examining headers, redirects, and responses. Requests can reuse values from earlier calls, while plugins extend authentication, imports, and template functions.
Collections use YAML files that can be committed, compared, and shared through a team's source-control workflow. Optional encryption supports sharing sensitive values with access managed through the Git provider. A CLI and MCP plugin let external coding agents work with the same requests. The app runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux for development work involving different APIs.
