A web framework centered on content and selective interactivity

Astro builds websites from server-rendered components and content sources. It sends HTML to the browser and adds client-side JavaScript for interactive parts, using islands to place widgets within an otherwise static page. Content can come from local files, APIs, or a CMS.
Collections organize Markdown and MDX with validation and type checking. Components from supported UI frameworks can be reused where needed, while integrations connect styling libraries, themes, and other build tools. Developers can use the framework for documentation, blogs, marketing pages, or projects with server endpoints, configuring the rendering and interactive components around the content each page needs.
