Explore recordings through instrument separation, synchronized notes, and MIDI export.
Turn drum recordings into editable notation with source playback and MIDI export.

Backbeat Forge turns audio recordings into five-line drum notation that musicians can review and edit. It accepts full mixes, isolated drum stems, and percussion MIDI performances. Local processing separates drums when needed, detects hits, and keeps the resulting score connected to the source recording so uncertain notes can be checked by listening.
Users can correct kit assignments, timing, velocity, articulation, and written rhythm, then save the work as a project. The professional edition adds editing, quantization, printable PDF scores, and General MIDI export from the current revision. A free community edition provides detection and score viewing for evaluating a transcription before purchasing the additional tools.
