Causal is a spatial workspace for planning creative projects. Notes, images, links, files, colors, and voice memos sit together on an infinite canvas, where their position helps express relationships. Users can start with a template for research, branding, storyboarding, or another project, then develop quick ideas into longer documents.
Collections, nested canvases, and an unsorted tray provide structure as a board grows. Supported files open in previews, and Markdown or CSV files can be edited in place. AI tools and an MCP connection help turn collected material into further work. A read-only sharing link lets collaborators view a canvas without an account, and a free plan is available.
