Distributed search and analytics with full-text and vector retrieval

Elasticsearch is a distributed search and analytics engine for applications that need to retrieve and explore large amounts of data. It combines full-text search, filters, relevance scoring, and vector search, allowing developers to build keyword, semantic, or hybrid search experiences. Teams use it for product discovery, internal knowledge search, log analysis, and retrieval for AI applications.
Data can be ingested through APIs, language clients, connectors, and processing pipelines. Elasticsearch supports structured and unstructured content, time-series records, geospatial data, and vector embeddings within the same platform. Aggregations help summarize results, while Kibana adds exploration and dashboards. Developers can run Elasticsearch on their own infrastructure or choose Elastic Cloud Hosted or Serverless, depending on how much control and operational responsibility they want.
