Users can bring PDFs, ebooks, office documents, text, Markdown, or saved web articles into a library, choose a voice, and add bookmarks or notes as they listen. Questions about a document return answers with the relevant passages.

The app performs reading, speech generation, and question answering on the device, keeping the library and recorded voice local. It can prepare a whole document as an audio file for listening later, with export available in the full version. Fluence suits readers who switch between following text and listening away from the screen.
