Create and experience acoustic works with their own rules and behavior.

IFAH develops software instruments for creating and experiencing authored acoustic works. Its Studio and Player separate the making of a work from listening to it, with a format designed to carry material, rules, timing, and ownership information. Sample editions let visitors explore how those choices shape an experience.
The Studio keeps documents and recordings on the maker's own machine, and the Player is available without charge. IFAH also develops instruments around particular methods or practices. Its approach gives creators a way to specify how a work behaves, extending authorship beyond a fixed piece of recorded content.
