A bedside camera for tracking sleep movements and dream cues
Meet INSPEC
INSPEC is a contactless bedside device designed for lucid-dreaming experiments. Its infrared camera observes movement around the face and eyes during sleep, using those changes to identify periods associated with REM sleep. The device can trigger cues intended to help a sleeper recognize that they are dreaming.
Integration with the Lucid Scribe app provides configurable sound, light, and vibration cues, along with tools for reviewing recorded movement information. The open design offers interfaces such as Bluetooth, webhooks, an HTTP video stream, and microSD storage for custom projects. Users place the camera beside the bed and configure their preferred cues and logging workflow without wearing a sensor.
