Keep your AI assistant’s memory in local Markdown files

Keel is a local-first AI assistant for Mac and Windows that keeps project notes, daily logs, tasks, and conversation captures in ordinary Markdown files. Its context engine finds relevant material for a conversation and saves useful decisions or action items back into the workspace. Users can switch between supported cloud providers or local models through Ollama while retaining their files.
The app includes project knowledge bases, a daily dashboard, reminders, and scheduled prompts for recurring reviews or summaries. Meeting audio can be transcribed locally and organized into project notes. Calendar and document integrations add external context when enabled. Keel is open source, and its file-based workspace can also be edited or backed up with other tools.
